MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets the model call external tools and data sources safely. The desktop app can discover and manage configured MCP servers. The entry is Extensions → Mcps. See Extensions. MCP server list

Current limits

  • You can view and enable or disable configured MCP servers
  • You can use tools within Claude / Codex capabilities
  • The MCP marketplace entry is still Coming Soon
To add a server, write it using Claude / Codex config conventions, then refresh status in the app.

Use it in chat

After a server is enabled and connected, the model picks tools for the task. Permissions still follow the current run mode. See Modes and permissions.
MCP config can run commands on this computer. Check the source, arguments, and environment variables before you add one.
