Open Settings → CLI configuration. Add a provider for the current engine, use local config, or install the matching CLI first.
CLI stays not installed
CLI stays not installed
The app does not silently install for you. In CLI configuration, click Install (confirm the plan first), or confirm the command works in a system terminal and come back to Settings to detect again. A GUI launched from a launcher may not see your shell
PATH. Write the path into system environment variables and restart the app. Details: Detect and install.I see Gemini in Settings but cannot configure it
I see Gemini in Settings but cannot configure it
Gemini and similar engines currently sit in the Coming soon group. The README line that Gemini is enabled by default is outdated. Trust the Settings page, and do not troubleshoot them as shipped runtimes.
Where are the config files
Where are the config files
The provider catalog is
~/.ccgui/config.json. Claude hosted providers write only there and do not change ~/.claude/settings.json (you can still choose local official config). Enabling Codex writes ~/.codex/. Enabling a third-party Kimi / Grok provider writes each config.toml (backed up as .bak first). OpenCode hosted providers use env injection and do not change opencode.json. Pi writes ~/.pi/agent/auth.json. DSH models and keys live in the Web UI / $DSH_HOME, not in CC GUI. App settings and workspaces live in the app data directory.Performance and cold start
On Windows it does not respond for the first few seconds after install

Newer versions fix the cold-start click freeze. Upgrade to the latest build. Version notes wait until startup-gate-ready before they pop up.
Long sessions get slower
Long sessions get slower
The app uses a DOM window and incremental Markdown for long sessions. If it is still slow, start a new session or collapse old messages, and upgrade to the latest build.
I cannot change UI zoom
I cannot change UI zoom
The product permanently locks UI scale at 100% to avoid a WebView freeze path. This is expected.

The app has built-in auto-update. You can also download a new installer from Releases and overwrite the install.
