Prompt enhancer rewrites the current input before send. The original line can be short. The rewritten version is what the conversation model then runs.

When to use it

Good for drafts like:
  • “Make the login look better”
  • “Performance is a bit bad”
  • “Take a look at this”
Skip it when the instruction already has acceptance criteria and a file scope. An extra pass only wastes tokens.

How to use it

  1. Write a draft in the input box. You can include @ file citations
  2. Click the enhance control on the input toolbar
  3. Review the rewrite and edit it if needed
  4. Send
The enhancer provider and model do not have to match the current conversation. For example, chat can use Claude Opus while enhance uses a faster model or a CLI.

Configuration

Open Settings → Prompt enhancer. You can configure:
  • Which provider (Claude / Codex / each CLI)
  • Which model
  • Auto-select or pick manually
  • Restore defaults
If the current provider is unavailable, the page marks it. Configure that runtime in Provider management first.
Enhancing also uses tokens. Use it only when the draft is vague enough to be worth cleaning up first.
